About Us
Our Story
Three Willows was founded by clinicians who trained across hospital systems, community mental health settings, specialty clinics, and group practices. These experiences strengthened our commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based care while highlighting the importance of individualized and collaborative support.
We created Three Willows to provide therapy and assessment services that feel authentic, welcoming, and grounded in genuine human connection. Our goal is to support each person with care that is respectful of their unique experiences, values, and goals.

Dr. Elisabeth O'Rourke is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and emerging adults across a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. Her approach combines evidence-based therapies, including CBT and ACT, with a warm, collaborative style that considers the whole person—their strengths, relationships, values, and lived experiences.
Dr. O'Rourke has experience supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, OCD and tic disorders, depression, behavioral and executive functioning challenges, and co-occurring medical and mental health conditions, including Functional Neurological Disorder and PANS/PANDAS. She takes an individualized, strength-based approach that incorporates mindfulness, self-compassion, and values-based work, helping clients build insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
She believes therapy works best as a partnership—between client and provider, and often between the client's broader support system as well. Lizzie enjoys collaborating with families, schools, and medical providers to build a shared understanding of each client's needs, helping ensure that progress made in session translates into real, sustained change at home, at school, and in everyday life.
Outside of work, Lizzie enjoys going on adventures with her husband and two young children, lounging and running around with her animals, and rounding out a free weekend with a round of disc golf or a trip to the local farmers market. She's an avid Lego builder and a regular in her garden, tending it alongside the occasional crafting project. A devoted fan of fantasy and sci-fi—books, TV, and movies alike—she's just as happy diving into a comedy or whatever else catches her eye, whether that means a night on the couch or a trip to one of her favorite local bookstores.

Dr. Emilee Valler Gorfien (she/her) is a licensed psychologist who specializes in comprehensive evaluations for autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions across the lifespan. Her approach to assessment is client-centered and strengths-based, helping individuals and families better understand themselves and make informed decisions about treatment, education, and other supports with greater clarity and confidence.
Emilee has a particular interest in working with individuals who have historically been under-identified or misidentified, including girls and women, gender-diverse individuals, BIPOC clients, and adults seeking diagnosis later in life. Her evaluations integrate evidence-based assessment methods with careful consideration of each person’s lived experience, strengths, and goals.
She believes clients are best supported when the people around them have a shared understanding of who they are and what they need. She enjoys collaborating with families, schools, medical providers, and other members of a client’s care team to bring people together around a client’s strengths, needs, and goals, helping foster continuity of care and support across settings.
Although her primary focus at Three Willows is psychological evaluation, she maintains a small therapy caseload and particularly enjoys working with autistic, disabled, and neurodivergent individuals and their families. Her therapeutic work focuses on supporting greater life satisfaction and quality of life, as defined by each client.
Outside of work, Emilee enjoys musical theatre, exploring the Adirondacks, supporting local businesses and trying out new restaurants, and taking on the occasional scrappy sewing or crafting project. She is a parent to two tenacious and curious young children and loves spending time with her family pack - both two- and four-legged. Also, GO BILLS!
Our Approach
Our approach integrates evidence-based therapies—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strengths-based practices—to support meaningful and lasting change.
We focus on helping clients better understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical skills for navigating daily life. At the same time, we center values, identity, and lived experience, supporting greater psychological flexibility and self-understanding.
Together, we clarify goals, track progress over time, and build skills that extend beyond the therapy room into everyday life.
Our Values
Our work is guided by authenticity, flexibility, and growth. These values shape how we show up as clinicians and how we build relationships with the people we serve.
We prioritize transparency and open communication, and we are committed to honoring the full complexity of each person’s identity, culture, and lived experience. We strive to create a space where people feel safe to explore, reflect, and grow.
We also believe that growth is ongoing and that therapy should support flexibility in how we respond to life’s challenges. Together, we focus on helping clients move toward lives that feel meaningful, connected, and aligned with their values.
These principles guide not only our clinical work, but also how we strive to engage with each other and our broader community.
